I’ve been sitting on this news a while, so I’m very pleased it has finally been announced!
That secret book I’ve been dropping (far too many) hints about online? It’s the second Stranger Things novel, and it’s called Darkness on the Edge of Town, and it’s about Hopper as a homicide detective in New York City, 1977, and it’s out from Del Rey on June 4th, 2019.
This was a dream project and the book was a joy to write – I’m a huge fan of the show, and Hawkins police chief Jim Hopper is my favourite character. Digging into his past in NYC was a real blast, and I hope readers have as much fun reading about his bizarre 1977 adventure as I did writing it.
